First of all – hi all – hope your last few weeks of public holidays have been awesome 🙂

For all Durban-based peoples – the I Heart Market is this Saturday, and I will be there with lovely new goodies! It’s just always worth it – great food (mmm – cupcakes AND macaroons now!), good tunes (via the Unit 11 DJs) – and a good time to be had. Oh, and did I mention, Sunday is Mother’s Day – hint hint people! 😉

Next up – yup – I have FINALLY updated my website! I think it’s looking quite spiffy now, with a background and everything (html is haaaard!) – let me know what you think!

And now – onto some new goodies – been working like a busy bee to get these ready for the market 🙂

These are just some of my new pretty things – so many more to come! Hope to see lots of you this Saturday 🙂 Love Megs xx

Hi all.. 🙂 Had such a nice start to my Sunday, drinking coffee & reading my Runaways comic collection – bliss 🙂 Anyhow – onto proper blogging!

First off, just a reminder that my starbrightgirl etsy shop giveaway ends at the end of the week (Fri 22nd) – check out the blog post to enter: https://starbrightgirl.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/starbright-girl-april-giveaway/ 🙂

In other news – it’s been a busy weekend so far, went ice-skating on Friday night, which I haven’t done since I was a young teenager! But this being Durban, although it was an indoor rink, people were skating in t-shirts & shorts, and the ice was melting rapidly, which meant it was like skating in a pond! But I’m happy to say I did ok – better than my hubby (was his first time ever) – he did look like a super-cute Bambi-on-ice, but managed not to fall, so I’m very proud 😉

Then, last night we headed to a mystery masked party for a friend’s 30th, at Unit 11 in Durban. Was a great evening with friends, got to dance some, and watch my hubby take part in illustrating a skateboard deck as part of the entertainment – how awesome is his illustration?!

You can check out more of his amazing illustrations on his website – www.jumpsuitart.com 🙂

Onto some jewellery – here are some pics of recent work I’ve been doing.. First up is my new series of domed heart silver & resin pendants.. These look awesome for real, but I am having some trouble photographing them, as they reflect everything!! With time, hopefully I’ll sort it out!

Then the following are some uber-cool scifi reference sterling silver pendants (handmade!).. Hope I’m not stepping on any licensing toes with these, they really are for fans only, and I only make one at a time.. Ah, one day maybe I’ll get to meet Joss Whedon and work out a marketing deal – how cool would that be?!! 😉

Anyhow – that’s all from me for now, folks.. I’ve gotta get into the kitchen and bake cookies before heading to an indoor picnic (it’s rainy-like outside) – a woman’s work is never done! Have a wonderful week everyone 🙂 Megs xx

This month at the I heart Market, I was visited by Casey, who has an awesome blog called Sibling Mine. She’s from Pretoria, so lots of posts are Gauteng-based, but I’m stoked she came to the I heart Market, and featured quite a few of us 🙂

Check out this link to her blog (I’m vain, so I’ll take you to the page I’m on first!!) 😉 http://www.siblingmine.com/?p=2610 There are some pics of my brooches too…

In other news, I’m busy busy busy trying to make enough stock for the 3 (count ’em!) I heart Markets in Dec – yup, that’s every Saturday til Christmas! So I hope lots of you will come and support Durban local designers & crafters, and get some delicious snacks while you’re browsing for pressies.

Ah – if you’re keen to learn more about the I heart Market, please check out the blog they’ve recently started: http://iheartmarket.blogspot.com/ There are some great pics, as well as a short history of the market (yes, I’ve been there since the very beginning!) 🙂

Otherwise – I’m dropping new stock off at Fat Tuesday today, so if you’re in the Kloof area, their gallery is an awesome little shopping mecca of intriguing finds! It’s upstairs from Vanille.. I’ll take some pics when I’m there later, to show you all what you’re missing if you haven’t been! 😉

Ok – it’s been so long since I last posted – I thought I need to add a photo or 2… Soooo – a few weeks back, my hubby and 2 great friends, Paul & Nadja, and I – headed down to Margate for the weekend.. Why Margate you say? Well – here’s why (ok, we only found it after we arrived, but still awesome) – the classic old school fun fair!! Bumper Cars, Ferris Wheels – and of course, the Sea Shells. Note to self for future reference – no candy floss before riding – the g-forces are baaaad!! 😉
